For the past 21 years, I have been a planner and an organizer.  I always needed things a specific way and then everything changed for me.  I've always had a vivid imagination and thoughts racing through my mind.  I realized that life is way too short to let things pass me by, because in the blink of an eye everything could change.  So I decided to just live in the moment, taking every chance and opportunity led my way.  No second thoughts and just going with the flow.

I decided to put the fictional characters and the conversations going on in my head to paper.  I know, it makes me sound crazy, but I wouldn't have it any other way.  I've embraced crazy and hectic and last minute because it's led me to making my dreams a reality.

When I'm not writing Happily Ever After's I'm reading about them and living one.  I think this world is filled with too much sadness already we don't need to read about it as well.  I write because I love it and I've allowed my imagination to run wild and be crazy and free.  Just like me.

review: Where My Heart Breaks by Ivy Sinclair

Where My Heart Breaks
Where My Heart Breaks by Ivy Sinclair

My rating: 4/5
DRC provided by NetGalley for an honest review
Published: 8.29.2013
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

Summary –

If there were a course in screwing up your life, Kate Spivey would get an A+.

Trust is in short supply for Kate at the start of the summer before her senior year of college. Her parents sentenced her to spend it under the watchful eye of her aunt at the famous Willoughby Inn. It was further proof that she was a prisoner in, and not the decision maker of, her life. Nothing she does is good enough to prove that she learned from the mistakes of her past.

Almost immediately, Kate finds that her new summer home holds another person who understands the unfairness of her situation better than most. Reed Black has had his own share of tragedy and regrets, but instead of trying to fight his reputation, he embraced it.

Sparks fly between Kate and Reed, but his mixed signals remind Kate that she needs to watch her step. He is one temptation she can't afford to indulge in, no matter how strong her attraction to him. If she isn't careful, she'll lose more than her heart. (Thanks to for the summary)

My Thoughts –

‘Where My Heart Breaks’ is a beautiful story about love and the transition to adulthood.

Kate gets sent to stay with an Kate in the middle of nowhere to help out for the summer to run a B&B. She hates it, she resists it and she resents it – that is until she meets Reed, again. I wasn’t sure about Kate at first. She was a bit of a wild child but I think meeting Reed was good for her in the best way possible. Reed is just about the awesomest guy ever. He tries so hard to resist her, but just can’t seem to get her out of his head. Millie and Sam were great as well.

I really enjoyed the tie in of the novel in the book that was written so long before Kate ever arrived. It was a very interesting focal point in the book – it worked very well.

review: Rome by Jay Crownover

Rome (Marked Men, #3)
Rome by Jay Crownover

My rating: 5/5

Published: 1.7.2014
Series: Marked Men #3
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

Summary –

Sometimes the wrong choice can be just right . . .

Fun and fearless, Cora Lewis knows how to keep her tattooed "bad boy" friends at the Marked in line. But beneath all that flash and sass is a broken heart. Cora won't let herself get burned again. She's waiting to fall in love with the perfect man—a baggage-free, drama-free guy ready for commitment. Then she meets Rome Archer.

Rome Archer is as far from perfect as a man can be. He's stubborn, rigid, and bossy. And he's returned from his final tour of duty more than a little broken. Rome's used to filling many roles: big brother, doting son, super-soldier—but none of those fit anymore. Now he's just a man trying to figure out what to do with the rest of his life while keeping the dark demons of war and loss at bay. He would have been glad to suffer through it alone, until Cora comes sweeping into his life and becomes a blinding flash of color in a sea of gray. Perfect may not be in the cards, but perfectly imperfect could just last forever . . .(Thanks to for the summary)

My Thoughts –

Initially all I can say is Ermahgerd! There were tears, tears, and more tears. I’ve followed this series from the beginning and am totally in love with this group/family.

Cora has been a consistent character throughout this series and in Rome, you really get to know her in depth. Seeing what’s behind her smile and her ‘take no prisoners’ attitude is what really makes you fall in love with her as a character. I love, love, love how she took over the situation and set out to mend the Archer family.

Rome is a tortured soul. He’s seen too much and it’s taken damn near the ultimate toll on him. He’s not sure how to handle Cora and doesn’t think he deserves her. Men are so dumb sometimes.

Rome and Cora have great chemistry and honestly are just plain perfect together. I hope to heck that Jay Crownover puts out more stuff like this to read, because I loved every one of the books in this series - great job!

“I’m your ride,” the truck driver said, but she wasn’t really listening.
Nope. She was staring. Gaping, really. The driver had now opened his door wide, and she could get a good eyeful of the man who was supposed to save her. For a moment, time froze. She knew rationally that not all overly large men with beefy muscles were brutes. Not all men over six foot and two hundred pounds beat up their girlfriends. Or whipped their daughters’ butts with a leather belt. But she knew that some did.
Boy, did she know.
And she’d had too many instances where big guys ruled her world—and had ruled her. All they had to do was shake a fist, and without one word, could get her in line.
She swallowed against the dryness in her mouth, stared at the huge guy sitting in the driver’s seat of the eighteen-wheeler, and finally managed to speak. “You’re who my brother sent to help me? The freaking Hulk?”
“If you’re not here for a ride,” the driver growled, “I’ll take off.” He slammed the door shut.
She glanced over her shoulder to see Grozney and his nasty enforcer-types emerging from the garage. Her heart leapt into her throat. She only had seconds before Grozny saw her.
“Oh God!” she squeaked.
“I hope you’re ready to go now.”
His annoyed tone caught her attention and she whipped her head back around, then scrambled toward the truck. He had no idea just how ready to leave she was. “Yes, I can leave now. Right now in fact.”
“Good.” He revved the truck.
A gun shot echoed across the cement lot.
A second one followed it, and Molly jumped for the door, grabbing the door handle and banging her knee against something hard. She bit back a yell and struggled unsuccessfully to pull herself up to the window, aiming to climb through it to get into the high cab. A large masculine hand wrapped around her wrist and gave an almighty yank.
“Ow!” Her arm nearly came out of its socket, but with the man’s help, she made it through the window, only to land landed face-down on something soft, a masculine grunt accompanying her arrival.
