Summary –
Everything about him warned me to stay away.

I’d seen bad boys before, but he had it all and more. The rippling muscles covered in tatts, the piercing eyes hiding dark secrets, the silky voice that could make a girl come with just a whisper . . .

He was exactly the type of guy that would get me in trouble, but when he jumped off the stage, inked skin glistening with sweat and breathed his seductive words into my ear, I couldn’t resist the temptation.

It was supposed to be the best one-night stand of my life, but fate didn’t let it play out that way. Things happened. I got upset. I got hasty. And worst of all, I got reckless.

After that disaster, I thought it was the last I’d see of him. But what I didn’t know was that I’d started something.

Something that could shatter the very thing I had worked so hard to protect.

I should have known back then that the most seductive things in life are also the most dangerous. (Thanks to GoodReads.com for the summary)

My Thoughts –
Reckless is a superb story about finding love and learning to live through terrible experiences.  I enjoyed the chemistry between Riley and Jax, even though Jax was a big asshat more than once throughout the book.  This was easy to read and the story flowed well.  The sex scenes were intense and swoon worthy.  I liked the story a lot, but it needed just a little something else to make it a 5/5 – as a rockstar romance, it did ok.  Also, OMG the ending.  Ugh, a cliffhanger.  That said, good job the author, great series!  I look forward to reading more from Priscilla West.

Summary –

“There would be no happy ending for us. He was too damaged. I was too broken.”

Two years ago, Lorrie’s mother was murdered. But that wasn’t the end of it. Reeling from the tragedy, Lorrie’s father spiraled into alcohol, depression, and finally suicide.

The two most important people in Lorrie’s life are both gone but she’s still alive.

Trying to recover from the tragedy, Lorrie returns to campus, ready to pick up the pieces of her life. All Lorrie wants is to get back to “normal.”

Then she meets Hunter. The man, the legend, “the Hammer.”

Hunter is a cage fighter who takes on every fight like he’s got nothing to lose. His life is a tangled mess of girls, booze, and fist fights. And while it may seem like he’s got a devil-may-care attitude, he’s fighting a private cage-match with a monster he can’t defeat.

Lorrie knows that Hunter is the exact type of guy she should stay away from, especially in her fragile state, but Hunter has other ideas.

As Hunter and Lorrie grow closer together, will they be able to overcome their pain and heal each other? Or will they both end up wrecked?

My Thoughts –

My initial reaction: Goddamn Korean ending...

That said, I really enjoyed this story.  It was well constructed, fast paced and easy to read.  The ending made me want to throw my Nook across the room, but the rest of the story was great.

I enjoyed the characters of Lorrie and Hunter.  I thought their chemistry was off the charts and so were their “scenes”.  I also enjoy the aspect of the cage fighting, it just soooooo hot!!

This story is chalked full of angst, self-doubt and smexy hot lovin’.  All my favorite characteristics of a NA novel.  My issue is the ending.  Seriously – Korean ending.  Ugh.  Other than that, great job to the author for making me react so strongly towards this couple’s HEA, or not so HEA...can’t wait for the rest of this story!!
