Hunting Human - Amanda E. Alvarez

Hunting HumanHunting Human by Amanda E. Alvarez

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Beth has endured the most horrifying experience anyone could ever fathom. She was abducted, let loose and chased like an animal, by an animal. She lost her dearest friend, was severely injured and her life was forever changed. She didn’t want anything to do with the monsters that had changed her life forever. After moving from place to place, she finally feels at home on Portland.

Braden wasn’t looking for his mate, didn’t even know Beth was like him – but he did and she was. Thinking she was a spy from the evil Markko, he kidnapped her and took her to his family ranch. She set the story straight of how she really was infected with Lycanism, but Braden had already done the damage in her eyes.

During a trip into town with Braden sister and brother, Markko attacks Beth in a clothing store. Everyone is on high alert, especially after dead animals show up on their doorstep and a plan is set into motion to trap and destroy Markko. Braden goes off to bury the dead animal and everything goes to hell from there. Braden is captured, almost dies and then the day is saved and the bad guy is a goner. HEA.

I liked this book a lot. I enjoyed the complex world the author has created. I hated the bad sect of werewolves in Europe but they were essential to make the story great…and it was great. Beth was a cool character. This awful thing happened to her, she survived and she was just trying to get through the day, day-to-day. I liked Braden, then I was mad at him when he jumped to the wrong conclusion about Beth, but then he saw the light. The chemistry between the two of them was hot, seriously hot. The plot and action/danger element were enthralling and awesome. I enjoyed the rest of Braden’s family as well, they were interesting and I see the potential for more stories involving them. Great story. I can’t wait for more!!

  1. I recently read this book too and I agree with your review. When that whole kidnapping thing goes down I wanted to slap Braden upside his fat head. I mean I get why he does it but, it was a bit much dont you think?

  2. This book absolutely blew me away! It was amazing from beginning to end. It was extremely well written with characters that I could see coming to life as I read. After reading this book, I have decided I want to become a werewolf. I read this book in one day. When I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about reading it. This is the type of book I enjoy. This book sticks with you and you will not forget it.
