Chantilly’s one dream in life is to take over running the family ranch. When her daddy hires a new foreman, she goes ballistic. Chantilly thinks that her daddy doesn’t think she can do the job, even though she has been for like ever. Add to the fact the new foreman, Jack, makes her feel all wonky inside and she’s one hot mess.

“When did you realize reading was your passion and a truly important part of your life?”

Only in the last few years really.  I used to read just to get myself to sleep, but reading developed into a much more time consuming habit not shortly after.  I still have to red to get to sleep, now I read for hours instead of minutes.  I don't watch much TV or very many movies.  I like to read instead; I always have something to read with me - ALWAYS.  If I have to wait at a doctor's office, I whip out my book/Nook, if I have to wait in a long line at the grocery store -= book, if i have to wait a long time int he drive-thru = book.  I'm almost always reading.

Q. In light of the Summer Solstice. Also known as Midsummer...let's talk about fairies. What is your favorite fairy tale or story that revolves around the fae?

I'd have to say my favorite fairy tale would have to be either Aladdin or Beauty and the Beast.  As for stories that revolve around the fae - I'd have to pick Tithe by Holly Black or The Blue Girl by Charles de Lint.  I also really enjoyed the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning and the Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr.

“How many books are currently in your To-Be-Read (TBR) Pile?”

Well - Goodreads says I have 1252 on my TBR shelf - and I only put them on there when I own the book and physically/digitally have it to read.  I know for sure I haven't put my classics shelf in GR or most of my YA/teen shelf....so I'm saying at least 1300 books.  (It's a sickness, I know!)

Q. Genre Wars! What's your favorite genre and which book in that genre made it your favorite?

I think my favorite genre has to be menage romance.  The book that had me hooked after I read it would either have to be Be With Me by Maya Banks or Wicked Pleasure by Lora Leigh.

Review: Piper's Fury - Rachel Firasek

Piper's Fury (A Passion of the Soul novel)Piper's Fury by Rachel Firasek

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Piper uses her gift to help the local police department, where her friend Tally works, find missing persons and killers. She sees into a person’s soul when she touches them, that said – she doesn’t get out much (and not because the men aren’t interested – they really, really are). That all changes when she meets Bennett Slade, whom she can’t read and whom she feels a spark of ‘something’ for. Piper isn’t used to these new feeling and she doesn’t like it. Slade wants Piper to help find his daughter, who’s been missing since his wife was murdered five years ago.

Q. The magic book fairy pops out of your cereal box and says "you and your favorite character (from a book of course) can switch places!" Who are you going to switch with?

My Answer......
I would so totally be Georgina Kincaid!  She's awesome and the paranormal world she lives in rocks.  If I couldn't be her, then I've either have to be Anita Blake (yeah, you know why) or I'd be Hermione Granger (hello, Hogwarts).

WTF, blogger? #2

Is anyone else having problems with their post showing up in the blogger dashboard?  usually mine pop right up and it's not today.  I've had this happen a few times before and all I had to do was go into edit and re-post it - but that's not working today...AHHHH!

EBF: Book Blogger Hop 6/10/2011

“Who is the ONE author that you are DYING to meet?

My Answer:  I'd love to meet is......either J.R. Ward, Laurell K. Hamilton or Richelle Mead.  I just love their books to death and would love to pick their brains for advice.

Q. What are you doing to prepare for an upcoming zombie apocalypse and/or the return of Mel Gibson to the silver screen? (Both of which could be terrifying.)

I say swords, but my husband and his friends say guns.  Guns, guns and more guns.  My problem with guns is that you can run out of ammo.  Swords are a never-ending source of annihilation.  Zombies stop going after you cut their head off; they can keep going after you shoot them.  "Lasers" would be even better, but only if you didn't have to worry about recharging them.

As for Mel Gibson - the only movies I ever really liked with him in them are Maverick and What Women Want.  I could care less either way really, I never thought he was all that to begin with.

Up & Coming Authors/Books - Lisa Kessler/Night Walker

This is set to be released August 5, 2011 - I can't wait!!

He gave up his soul for a second chance to love her...

Two and a half centuries ago, Calisto Terana lost everything when a zealous priest murdered the woman he loved. Now, desperate for another chance to love her, he wants redemption for the mistake that cost her life.

She’s haunted by dreams of her own death...

After catching her fiance with another woman, Kate Bradley returns to San Diego to clear her head. The last thing she needs is romance, but after meeting Calisto she's drawn to him in ways she doesn't understand.

They’ve waited in the shadows for centuries...

Calisto has no doubt Kate is the reincarnation of his lost love, but the Fraternidad Del Fuego Santo has a new watcher with dark ambitions of his own. As old enemies reemerge and a new threat arises, the betrayal that enslaved Calisto to the night might destroy the only woman he’s ever loved again.
