Summary –

*Recommended 17+ due to strong language and sexual content*

Ness's parents are shocked when she turns down her place at Leeds University and takes on a full-time job in a call center. Determined to begin her adult life the way she wants, Ness moves to Leeds to live with her best friend Abby.

One night she meets Evan, who is everything she hates about guys. He may be hot but he's also drunken, arrogant, and on top of that, he apparently has sex with girls and forgets about it. But Evan isn't what he seems and Ness soon discovers they have more in common than she thought.

Evan is struggling to escape from his past too, and when Lucy appears she threatens his new relationship with Ness. Unsure if she can deal with the effect Lucy has on Evan, Ness makes a decision about her future which pulls them apart.

When their new lives don't go as planned, Ness and Evan are both faced with difficult choices.

All because of Lucy... (Thanks to GoodReads.com for the summary)

My Thoughts –

Where does the story take place? Leeds, United Kingdom
Is the title a good/bad choice for the story? Absolutely
List the top 3 characters and 1 word to describe them each. Ness – stubborn, Evan – struggling, Lucy - frantic
Give the book an alternate ending…or were you happy with it? I think there could have been more to the ending. It just kind of cut off…I would have liked more of an conclusion.
Did you cry, laugh, sigh, cringe, fume or feel nothing? Sighed, fumed, cringed and maybe laughed.

I liked this story quite a bit. It’s easy to read, moves at a good pace and has some great characters. I read it all in one go and thought it was excellent.

Ness chose not to go to school like her parents wanted and got a job instead. A job she hated. She was stubborn and selfish to a point to where you really wanted to slap some sense into her. Hmmm, being a doctor versus a telemarketer? No question. She was also kind of snooty and sounded like the Queen at times.

Evan…oh Evan. He was just going with the flow and trying leave his past behind him. He wanted to start a new life for himself, but I think – as Ness pointed out – that he was going about it the wrong way. He was secretive and kind of anal about it at times. He was awesome though.

I think these two made a phenomenal couple. They have charisma together and a spark that sizzles between them. I would have liked more substance to their love scenes. Had those been a little more lengthy/descriptive, I think it would have been a 5/5 for me.

This was a great quick read. As I said before, it’s easy to read, moves at a good pace and has some great characters. I am certainly looking forward to more in the series and more from this author.
