Dangerous Games by Keri Arthur
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Best one so far.
So Riley is trying to track a serial killer down while evading Gauthier and figuring what Quinn is up to. The trail to the serial killer leads her to a club where she meets Jin, a guy who seems to be human but isn't entirely. After hooking up with Jin and a night of a bit-too-rough sex for Riley, she runs into Quinn who's stalking the person living with Jin. Oops.
Riley doesn't feel she can trust Quinn and starts to rethink their relationship. She heads over to the spa Jin works at to receive a free spa treatment and do a little investigating for Jack and the crew. What she sees convinces her that Jin is involved with the serial killings that have occurred lately.
After planning a mission to take down a secret organization bent on raising demons, Riley set out to do her job. She goes though hell and comes out a winner - as only Riley Jenson can do. After all the bad stuff, she tells Quinn to f-off after he used mind control on her. Not really a HEA, but at least she didn't die. Yay.
Ok, all that said, I liked this one the best so far. Still non-descriptive sex, but it had a little more description this time. I thought the action/danger/horror element in this story were something akin to Anita Blake - which I love. I hated Quinn in the last book and I still kind of do - just a little less so now.
