“What keeps you reading beyond the first few pages of a book, and what makes you want to stop reading a book and put it back on the shelf?
“
I think what keeps me reading is if I want to find out more, if I like the characters and if I like how the writing flows. I'll put one down if it's too wordy and I can't get into to the plot.
I don't know why I keep reading a book. It's not the story. It's not the characters. I really don't know!
ReplyDeleteI'm hopping by to tell you that I've got a wonderful giveaway going on at my blog, Readerbuzz. It's international! During the Readerbuzz July Giveaway I'll be giving away a $25 Amazon gift card! I'd love to have you stop in and throw your name in the hat to win!
I agree, I don't like beginnings to be too wordy so that I can't get into the plots. I also don't like overly descriptive openings.

A good writing is basic! It need to be me interested and curious, especially about the characters!
